this is my /now page. it's a snapshot of what I'm focused on right now.

currently working on

  • teamsheet - a daily football squad-picking game at teamsheet.tv, live since 24 september. each draw gives you a real club and season, you take one player from that squad for an open place in your XI (under a budget), and the finished teamsheet scores out of 114 points. every card is valued for that season, and remembering what actually happened (titles, awards, crowds) beats knowing the ratings. since launch the daily has grown standings, a monthly table, honours, private leagues and house rules that twist some days; free play has hard mode and single-league rounds; and the season review at full time now searches for the best team you could have built. next i'm trying out puzzle modes. the launch film and the last week's numbers are on the projects page.
  • the reep register - a canonical register of football entities, mapping players, teams, coaches, competitions, seasons, stages, and matches to the IDs 56 data providers already use. now 1.9M+ entities and 6M+ provider bridges, available as csv/duckdb downloads and a keyed api. onboarding data partners for api access and consultancy engagements integrating the register into partner systems.
  • nutmeg and football docs — a claude code plugin and skills framework for football analytics. currently testing and refining it every day in my own workflows. football docs is an mcp server for letting your ai look up football data documentation, definitions, and concepts. feedback is very welcome, you can beta test it here.
  • wqbot - a twitter/x bot that regularly shares PL-focused data viz, and marcadorigami/scorigami updates. i'm adding more automated charts to the bot, like table possibilities and season stories, each linking back to its interactive on the site.
  • fpl genius — football outcomes are luck plus skill, and skill is the harder half to measure. not player performance or match results, but a second-order read on people: the behaviour behind their transfers, captaincy calls, and chip timing, judged only on what was knowable at the time. fpl genius turns that into a season-long decision-quality score, wrapped up to be genuinely fun to read (badges, an archetype, a shareable recap) — and it's turned into a running lesson for me in how to build and calibrate a scoring model out in the open. the league-first relaunch for 26/27 is now live at fplgeni.us, judged week by week, not just on final rank.

recent work

  • campos - football viz for the web: a react component library for football charts with sensible defaults and flexible customisation, plus a set of data adapters for common football providers (stats perform, statsbomb, whoscored, etc). now built and in beta, you can try it at campos.withqwerty.com.

paid work

  • delivered and integrated a new platform for a premier league club over the summer, and now on my next project. open to contract work and full-time roles from december (depending on current work), if they're a good fit. i'm ai-forward, collaborative, creative, and try to put personality into the things i make. i enjoy being forward-deployed, and happy to work in-person (londonmaxxing but open to hybrid roles).
  • roles i would find interesting: product/dx/data engineer, data journalist/technical writer, chief of staff or personal assistant for a seasoned founder. i don't have a computer science background nor deep senior experience as an engineer, but i'm a great fit if you're looking for someone who has a high bar, can learn anything fast, can leave an impression on just about anyone (inside or outside the team), and gets shit done. communication with intention is preferred, you can be direct with me, it's how we move fast and grow.
